Rwanda has called for the speedy trial of the key government aide who is charged with complicity in the murder of the country's former president, an act believed to have instigated the 1994 genocide.
On Wednesday, a French court charged President Kagame's chief of protocol, Rose Kabuye, with "complicity in murder in relation to terrorism." 47-year-old Kabuye insists she is innocent and claims says the genocide that killed more than 500,000 minority Tutsis was planned in advance and the plane attack in which former president Habyarimana died "had nothing to do" with it. Kabuye was arrested by German police on 9 November at Frankfurt airport and extradited to France.
